Core Design and Operation

The OS&Y design is characterized by the stem threads being located outside the valve body, protected within the yoke.

Operation: Turning the handwheel raises and lowers the threaded stem. This motion directly controls the gate disc (wedge), which moves perpendicularly to the fluid flow path.
