The 3-Piece Threaded Stainless Steel Ball Valve is a widely used and highly versatile quarter-turn isolation valve. It is specifically designed to control the flow of media in piping systems where corrosion resistance, high pressure, and easy maintenance are required.
⚙️ Design and Features
3-Piece Body Construction: The valve body is constructed from three separate pieces: a main body section and two end caps.
Advantage: This design allows the central body (containing the ball and seats) to be completely removed from the pipeline by simply loosening the body bolts, without having to disconnect the end caps from the piping. This is a major benefit for in-line maintenance and seat/seal replacement.
Connection Type: Threaded:
The end caps feature internal threads (typically NPT or BSP) for quick and easy screw-in connection to the pipeline.
Advantage: Simple installation without welding or flanges, suitable for small to medium pipe sizes.
Material: Stainless Steel (SS):
The valve is cast from Stainless Steel (commonly SS304 or SS316), providing excellent corrosion resistance against water, oil, gas, steam, and many chemicals.
Ball & Seating:
Uses a spherical ball with a bore through the center to control flow.
PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) seats are standard, offering tight sealing, low operating torque, and good temperature and chemical resistance.
